Congratulations to Glen Raymond who scored a comprehensive outright win in the George Derrick Pyrenees Rush around Avoca August 27th.
Former ARC round winner, Glenn took out the third round of the Victorian Rally Championship, the Pyrenees Rush, on Sunday. Driving a Subaru Impreza WRX, Raymond and co-driver, Kate Catford, mastered the wet and slippery conditions around Avoca to win by over three minutes.
Second place went to the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX of Warren Lee and David Lethlean, while the classic Ford Escort RS1800 of veteran Grant Walker and co-driver Steph Richards was third.
Glen was using the first production example of the newest Dunlop rally tyre, the DZ87RW. "Great turn-in and grip" were Glen's immediate impressions following his first drive on the tyres in SS1. "And also very good durability" added Glen, as he used the same set for leg 2 of the rally.
This augurs well for the new Dunlop tyre, set to be the benchmark at the upcoming epic Alpine Rally in December.
